Roaming Sim

I received a globe roaming sim yesterday,send from my Mom,she wanted me to use roaming sim so she can text me everyday and also to save money from sending me text message worth 15 pesos per text.Now as i read the instruction of the sim,it says it should be activated 24 hours before departure,They did not activate the card and there is no is initial load balance in the sim..grrrrr.... darn I cant use it! I just tried the sim on my cellphone now and it need codes!! I think the globe sim is not compatible with my network here..OMG!!
